He was predeceased by: his wife Shirla Elmore Dyer; his son James Rodney Dyer; his brothers, Wayne Dyer, Bruce Dyer and Jerome "Fat Cat" Dyer; and his parents, Zelbert Dyer and Effie Mae Rogers Dyer.
He is survived by: his children, Cyndee Brooks (Robert) and Keith Dyer (Katy); and his grandchildren, J. B. Dyer, Zeb Dyer (Lexi Larkin) and Holly Beth Brooks.
