It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Fair of Gordo, Alabama, who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her brother Bobby Ray Byars; her in-laws, Lewis Ward Fair and Ivie Mae Geer Fair; her brothers-in-law, Leon, Ralph Fair, Jimmy Garner and Jeff Mitchell; and her close friends, Jewel Burns, Martha Lou Porter, Byron and Susan Sprayberry.

She is survived by: her significant other Ben "Mack" Fair; her children, Cindy, Raymond Housel, Beverly, Mark Comerford, Ben and Stephanie Fair; her grandchildren, Erin, Matthew, Carie Katherine Housel, Heidi, Jonathan Burroughs and Tyler Fair; her great grandchildren, Eli Housel, David Martin Helmick, Sam Housel, Paetyn Brown, Liza Jean and John Mark Burroughs; her siblings, Bennie Mitchell, Billie Hall (Gerald), Bonnie Garner and Sonny Byars (Rosie); her brother-in-law Roy Fair (Sandra); and her grandsons, Kyle, Eli, David Martin, Sam and John Mark.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hannah Church (190 Hannah Church Cir, Gordo, AL 35466). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“Gordo won't be the same without Aunt Betty. I loved getting to come and see Uncle Mack. I love you both. I wish I could be there with you all, Cincy, Beverly and Ben. Hold on to each other and cherish all the memories of Aunt Betty. Take care of Uncle Mack. I'm sending him a little "care/love package with Greg (maybe he'll share). Love you all and I'm sad for you.
