He was predeceased by: his wife Peggie Fields Snipes; his brother Bill Snipes; his granddaughter-in-law Tonya Baines; and his parents, Albert Lavert Snipes and Trannie Patton Snipes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Roberts (Rodney) of Gordo, Maresa Ledbetter (Michael) of Tuscaloosa and Margaret Seymer (Jeff) of McShan; his grandchildren, Josh Baines, James, Kellie, Kayla Roberts, Carl Sanford and Chipper Seymer; and his great grandchildren, Destiney Roberts and Austin Baines.
