We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2021, at the age of 93, Joseph Forney Gilliland of Goodwater, Alabama, born in Sylacauga, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jones Stephens Gilliland and Maidhof Bridges Gilliland; his wife Shirlea Edmonson Gilliland; and his brothers, Jones Stephens Gilliland Jr. and Thomas Henry Gilliland.
He is survived by: his uncle Joe; his sister Betsy Gilliland Eyraud; his nieces, Meg Gilliland Sanders (George) and Marian Eyraud Murphy; and his nephew J. Steve Gilliland III. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York, 10306.
