She was predeceased by: her parents, James Ferrell James and Hattie Abston James of Virginia; her husband Leon McIlwain; her son-in-law Johnny Williams; and her siblings, Rudell James, Edward James, Ferrell James, Bessie Mosley and Easter Shippey.
She is survived by: her children, Danny McIlwain (Cissy) of Gilbertown, AL, Jimmy McIlwain (Susan) of Gilbertown, AL, Carolyn Williams of Silas, AL, Shasta Claunch (Mike) of Linden, AL and Connie Mosley (Steve) of Toxey, AL; her sister Nell Freeman of Waynesboro, MS; and her grandchildren, Susan Goldman (Neil), Cheryl Waldrop (Glen), Sandra Tubbs (Bobby), Wes Mosley (Julia), Kyla Pratt (Mike), Jody Claunch (Alison), Scott McIlwain (Brooke), Dillon McIlwain, Jade Harvison and Macy McIlwain. She is also survived by twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
