With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nell Ganus (Gilbertown, Alabama), born in Cross City, Florida, who passed away on February 2, 2019 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Cleveland Ward and Mary Ann Lucinda Ward; her husband W. L. Gilbert; her son Larry Gilbert; her son-in-law Willie Earl Whittington; her grandchildren, Brian Patrick Whittington and Wendy Suzanne Whittington; and her siblings, Donald Ward, Ella J. Delaney, Roselle Fowler, Floris Conner, Veta Jackson and Lora Jean Burdeshaw.
She is survived by: her daughter Yvonne Gilbert Whittington of Gilbertown, AL; her daughter-in-law Gloria Gilbert of Cross City, FL; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Hedgepeth (Brad), Chad Whittington (Tina), Blaine Gilbert (Shanley), Dane Gilbert (Deanna) and Lara Gilbert (Joe). She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
