It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Singleton of Gilbertown, Alabama, born in Chatom, Alabama, who passed away on January 29, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Singleton and Helen Louise Flint Singleton; and his sisters, Margaret Johnson, Etta May Singleton and Para Lee Weller.
He is survived by: his wife Voncille H. Singleton of Gilbertown, AL; his children, Jeffrey Calvin "Jeff" Singleton of Gilbertown, AL, Anthony Wayne "Tony" Singleton (Charlotte Lynn) of Silas, AL, Shawn Michael Singleton of Gilbertown, AL and Tonya Lynn Singleton of Needham, AL; and his siblings, Jessie Burns of Waynesboro, MS, Christina Singleton of Louisiana and Betty Davis of Tennessee. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
