He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thirl Bass (Jigs) and Agnes Henderson Bass; his son Charles Allen Bass; his granddaughter Mary Katherine Bass; and his sister Betty Black.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy McCormick Bass; his children, Shannon Bass and Tammy Glass (Gary); his grandsons, Caleb Glass (Amber), Seth Glass (Carley) and Anthony Bass; and his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Kate Glass, Bodhi Glass, Remi Glass and Daughtry.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of William to Brushey Creek Baptist Church.
