It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Allen Messer of Geneva, Alabama, born in Samson, Alabama, who passed away on February 5, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Messer and Sarah Elizabeth Deshazo Messer; and his siblings, Don, Buddy Messer and JoAnn Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Catherine Messer of Geneva; his children, Jim Messer Messer (Cherie) of Hudson, NC and Susan Lisenby Scottsdale (Jay); his grandchildren, Sarah Ley (Sean), Callie Istre (Mark), Jimmy Messer and Sarah Messer; and his great grandchildren, Addison Ley, Landon Ley, Hayes Istre and Kennedy Mae Messer.
