He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Mercer and Edna Davidson; and his siblings, Luther E. Mercer and Carolyn Fox. He is survived by: his sisters, Loretta Fischer (Jack) and Donna Jutzi; his brother-in-law Charles Fox (Carolyn); and his children, Devon Mercer (Jenny), Tasha Lee, Jeremy Davidson, Savannah Davidson and Larry Mercer Jr.. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
