She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Arleigh B. Spear and Ibbie Eliza Donnelle Spear; her husband James "Jimmy" Clifford Helms, Sr.; and her son James "Jamie" Clifford Helms, Jr. (Nashville). She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in her honor to Geneva First United Methodist Church.
