He was predeceased by: his brothers, Wayne and Eugene; and his parents, Henry Elmore (Dora) and Mae Elmore. He is survived by: his nieces, Cindy Elmore of Huntington, WV, Becky Elmore Young of Marietta, GA and Lisa Elmore Bultman (Jeff) of Enterprise, AL; his nephew Justin Elmore (Stephanie) of Huntsville, AL.; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Becky Patton of Phoenix, AZ, Kellie Shirie (Noah) of Atlanta, GA, Savannah Elmore of Huntsville, AL., Dustin Patton (Kelsey) of Phoenix, AZ, Andrew Valero (Emily) of Atlanta, GA, James Valero (Haylee), Kyle Shirie (Jessica) of Atlanta, GA and Avery Weed of Enterprise, AL.; his close friend Mollie; and his cousins, Margaret Mixon (Wayne), Marie Cardwell Davis and Margie Justice. He is also survived by his family and his friends.
He was also recognized for his contributions to several important cases, including Watergate, the Patty Hearst kidnapping, the Oklahoma City bombing, and several famous hijacking cases.
