He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Harmless and Rachel E. Kimbril Overton; his wife Geneva Hyatt Overton; his son Rickey Overton; his grandson Matthew Brazeel; his great grandchild Mattie Walsh; and his siblings, Wilford Overton and Imagene Brummet.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Lee Overton, Sr., Sissy Ash (Randy), Katherin Hampton and Sonya Roberts (Jody); his siblings, Wendell Overton and Mary Loyd (Lester); and his grandchildren, Shane Golden (Rachel), David "Bubba" Brazeel (Angela), J. L. Hampton (Maira), Amber Coats (Raynard), Jevin Hampton, Richard Overton (Miranda), C. J. Perry (Jessie), Johnny Overton, Jr. (Shannon), Joseph Overton, Sarah Beth Overton, Jarred Overton, Jessica Brantley (Robert), Kayla Walsh, Adam Roberts, James Roberts (Abbi) and Samantha Roberts. He is also survived by great grandchildren, family, and friends.
