He was predeceased by: his father Daniel Nichols; his wife Nellie Vee; his siblings, Marie Dismukes (Houston), Ruth Dismukes (Mack), Glenice Reynolds, Harold "Hop" Nichols (Katherine), John Hayward Nichols (Eloise) and Dewey "Duke" Nichols (Martha); and his son-in-law Sean Brown.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda N Brown and Sandra Nichols; his granddaughter Jennifer Brown Barron (Kraig); and his great grandchildren, Grayson, Benjamin, Sawyer, Parker and Finn Barron. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
