He was predeceased by: his father George Helms; his sister Ruth Martin; and his sister-in-law Jeanette Helms. He is survived by: his wife Augathee Jones Helms; his sons, George Helms (Donna) of Geneva and Jay Helms (Deadra) of Geneva; his grandchildren, Hannah Dixon, Audrey Walter, Clancy Helms, Jacob Helms and Rachel Simmons; and his siblings, Rex Helms (Mary) of Hartford, Carroll Helms of Dothan and Angelyn Yates (Paul) of Harvest, AL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
