It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Austin Ray Owens (Geneva, Alabama), born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Owens and Betty Jean Grimes Penn; his grandson John Clark Rice II; and his sister Lynell Owens. He is survived by: his children, Dana Kay Wooten (Shannon), Daphne Rae Beagles (Chuck), Deidra Grant Thomas (Chris), April Dawn Wilks (Bart), Jessie Owens and Josie Owens; his grandchildren, Danielle, Gabrielle, Isabelle Rice, Brent Beagles (Amber), Blake Beagles (Heather), Bailey Beagles, Kade Grant (Haley), Karson Grant, Avery, Chloe Nance and Harper Kate Wilks; and his sister Kim Harrison (Larry). He is also survived by niece and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Due to Covid, graveside services will be for family and close friends at ElBethel Baptist Church, Chancellor with pastors Larry Harrison and David Hingson officiating.
