He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Thomas and Nora Lee Lewis Pearsey; his wife Betty Lou Garmon Pearsey; his children, Michael Shane Pearsey and Jan Pearsey; and his siblings, John Roy Pearsey, Billy Pearsey, LaWayne Pearsey, Louise Pearsey and Ruth Parker.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Ann Abernathy and Lewis Pearsey, Jr.; and his siblings, Kenneth Pearsey and Joan McKelvey. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
