It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred Hughes (Gaylesville, Alabama), born in Menlo, Georgia, who passed away on June 20, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Thomas Roy; her son Michael L. Hughes; her siblings, Marlin Mitchell, Wilburn Hayden Mitchell and Virginia Mitchell Edgerton; her granddaughter Jessica Hughes; and her great grandchildren, Ann Compton and Charlie Thrasher.
She is survived by: her parent Evelyn F. Bryant Mitchell; her husband Horace Roland Hughes, Jr.; her daughters-in-law, James Edward, Joyce Ann Bradford Hughes, Donald Joe and Freda Pettyjohn Hughes; her daughter Sandra Joan; her son-in-law James Hitchcock; her brother Charles Truman; her sister-in-law Betty Mitchell; and her sister Olivia Mitchell Davis. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
