He was predeceased by: his parents, Hammond Brooks and Louise Smith Brooks; and his wife Karen Day Brooks. He is survived by: his daughters, Keila Crider and Brandy McCoy; his stepchildren, Jeremy Wilson (Alishia) and Stephanie Harris (Chris); and his siblings, Johnny Brooks, Linda Allen and Sarah Hughes. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
