She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gilliland and Blanche Gilliland (William "Doc" Perry); and her brothers, Frank and Charles Tischer (Elaine).

Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Moncrief Cemetery (2055 Moncrief Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071).

In lieu of floral remembrances, the family ask donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (gbhs.org) which was big in Martha's heart.
