She was predeceased by: her father Robert Lester; her grandmother Lee Burage Winters; her husband James Edward Payton; and her son Michael Payton. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Leavell (William), Dain Payton (Tamara) and Bradley Payton (Jennifer); her daughter-in-law Sandy Payton; and her grandchildren, Candace Ballenger (Heath), Clint Payton (Allison), Chris Guy (Megan), Dan Leavell (Heather), Cassie Gauer (Dan), Justin Payton (Courtnei), Jared Payton (Andrea), Macey Phillips (Cam), Emily Nichols (Karson) and Jacob Payton. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home (2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the Calcedonia Cemetery (1750 Sardis Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071).
