With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hugh Eugene Howard (Gardendale, Alabama), born in Birmingham, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 24, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Christine Howard; his son Thomas E. Howard; his grandson Christopher Smith; his parents, Hugh Howard and Stella Howard; and his siblings, Mildred Jenkins, Martha Ross, Joyce Watkins, Ann Smith and William Howard.
He is survived by: his children, Glenda Smith and Robert H. Howard, Sr. (Vicki); and his grandchildren, Allison Horton (Thomas), Raymond David Smith Jr., Robert H. Howard Jr. and Grant H. Howard. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
