She was predeceased by: her husband John Burns; her parents, John Gertis and Nellie Mae James; her siblings, John James Jr. and Virginia Shipp; and her son-in-law Billy McPherson.
She is survived by: her children, Karen McPherson and Daren Burns (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Michael McPherson (Meredith), Mary Catherine Cleveland (Sam), Brandi McPherson, Carter Burns (Katie) and Caroline Henry (Wallace); her great grandchildren, Ellie Kate Cleveland, Emma Caroline Cleveland and Palmer Leigh Burns; and her caregivers, Neisha Tate, Melissa Dixon, Tomiko Hudson and Kiona Dial. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
