He is survived by: his children, Camilla Croston, Patricia Spence (Sam), Durwood Lamar Smith, Jr. and Dusty Smith; and his siblings, Patricia Hannah, Linda Phillips (Larry) and Johnnie Smith (Peggy). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
