He was predeceased by: his parents, Bailey Willis and Annie Sharp Willis; and his wife Julia Hobbs Willis. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Willis (Judy) and Nanette Judd (Courtney); and his siblings, Kathleen Willis, Mary Jo Humphrey, Norma Ray, Kenneth Willis, Gerald Willis and Gary Willis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
