He was predeceased by: his former wife Carolyn McClendon; and his daughter Rita McClendon. He is survived by: his wife Melba Wood McClendon; his children, Cindy (Roger Campbell), Steve (Donna McClendon), Beverly (Dwight Rusk), Tina (John Tow) and Doug; his grandchildren, Scott, Danielle Campbell, Michael, Kristi Campbell, Clint, Charlee Rusk, Kyle Rusk, Kelli, Ben Conard, Matthew McClendon, Trevor, Anna Tow and Braxton Wood; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Autumn Campbell, Lola, Dela Campbell, Nora Claire and Cole Rusk; his sister Annie Lee Cannon; and his sister-in-law Eunice McClendon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Bethlehem United Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 10770 Gallant Road, Gallant, AL 35972.
