He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Daisy Roberts-Long and William Pierson Long, Sr.; his stepmother Pluma Hale Long; and his sisters, Monza Long Holley, Rita Long Clayborn and Jane Russell Reese.

He is survived by: his family Jesus; his grandfather Pob; his wife Rebecca Long (Becky); his daughters, Cari McAlister (Jason), Shana Long-Schuman and Courtney Marchman (Mike); his grandchildren, Alexandra McAlister (Caleb), Katie McAlister, Zander, Cannon and Callie Marchman; and his caregivers, Melissa and Glenda. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation.
