He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ann Shaneyfelt; and his siblings, Frankie Dee, Jack, Odell, Carnell, Charlie, Kelly, Savoy and Pearl.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Strawn (Steve), Thornie Shaneyfelt Jr. (Kim), Sonia Nelson (Mike) and Tracie Medley (Johnny); his brother Ricky Shaneyfelt; his grandchildren, Blake Strawn (Brandy), Linsie Diggs (Jared), Matthew Nelson (Anna), Isaiah Medley, Isaac Medley and Katelyn Shaneyfelt; and his great grandchildren, Dixie, Bently, Oakley, Charlie, Amaylin, Kayda and Ares.
