Robert Levern Holmes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Levern Holmes (Gadsden, Alabama), who passed away on February 14, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil S. Holmes and Vicie Holmes; his son Robert Cecil Holmes; and his brothers, Arvel Holmes and Euhl "Gus" Holmes.
He is survived by: his spouse Betty Roberta Holmes; his children, David Holmes (Trena) and Robbie Ross (Guy); his sister Glenda Arther; his grandchildren, Joshua Holmes (Kim), Farrah Hayes (Justin), Holli Patterson (Brandon), Jennifer Strawn (Chad), Julie Malamud (David), Anthony Holmes, Jamie Morris and John Broome (Emmie); his daughter Ivela Mordecai; and his pets, Buddy, Larry, Jenny Brown and Wanda Parr. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers and that memorials be made in Robert's name to North Glencoe Baptist Church Building Fund. (1119 Chastain Blvd, Gadsden, AL 35903) The family would like to express a very special thanks to the staff of Alacare Hospice, especially Jennifer Moody for her devoted care.
