He is survived by: his sons, Danny Battle of Birmingham, AL and LaDarius Brown of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Kamille (Battle) and Callaway Brown of Birmingham, AL; and his siblings, Charles Sims of Wedowee, AL, Willie Larry Sims of Birmingham, AL, Sandra Roberts of Tuscaloosa, AL, Era Brewster of Gadsden, AL and Georgia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, others relatives and dear friends.
