He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Newton and Myrtle Newton; and his siblings, Val Newton of Weaver, Gus Newton of Ashville and Judy Hammond of Steele.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Newton; his children, Ken Newton (Linda), Dan Newton (Dana) and Cheryle Newton; and his stepchildren, Cindy Smith and Keith McCreight. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
