He is survived by: his wife Barbara Childress; his children, Lisa Fortenberry (Scott), Deranda Haney (Steven), Christi Wood (Greg), Tanya Roberson (Phillip), Tiffany Tant (Eric), William Childress and Glenn Childress; and his siblings, Faye Allen (David), Shelby Dean, Brenda Dean (Danny), Darlene Childress (Vulcar), Raymond Childress (Polly), Larry Childress and Edward Childress. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.
