He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Goforth, Sr. and Mary Kate Goforth (Drake). He is survived by: his wife Margaret McGinnis Goforth; his daughter Shannon Waits (Russ); his grandchildren, Austin Waits (Hannah) and Sara Margaret Waits; and his great grandchild Thomas Cannon Waits.
