He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sadie Owen and Charlie Owen; his spouse Audrey Ford of Lineville; his children, Wayne Owen (Karen), Ann Heaton (Mark), Janice Gordon (Brian), Phil Owen (Becky) and Kathy Trotter (Charles); and his grandchildren, Amy Lawson (Earl), David Owen (Deblyn), Ryan Heaton, Rawlins Heaton, Owen Trotter, Tyler Trotter, Anna Katherine Hollingsworth (Eric), Mary Claire Owen and Matthew Gordon (Jamie).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gadsden First United Methodist Church or Salvation Army of Gadsden.
