He was predeceased by: his father Thomas George Varner. He is survived by: his wife Lori Mayer Varner; his sons, George Davis Varner, Jr. and Collin Rainey Varner (Elizabeth); his mother Mary Elizabeth Torbert; and his siblings, John Crawford Varner (Penney), Thomas Holcombe Varner and Molly Varner Elrod. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
