We are sad to announce that on August 18, 2023, at the age of 92, Dorothy Burger Smith (Gadsden, Alabama) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Burger and Gracie Burger; her husband Gene S. Smith; her brothers, Willie (Pat), Ersten Burger (Ann) and Clarence Burger; and her sisters-in-law, Audra Burger and Jean Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy S. Fortenberry and Mark S. Smith (Ann); her grandchildren, Abby R. Smith and Ashley S. Freeman (Andrew); her great grandchild Andi Freeman; her brother Stanley Burger (Beulah); and her brother-in-law Buddy Smith. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
