It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Daniel Walker of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Stoddard Walker; his parents, John Sidney, Sr. and Buena Vista Walker (White); and his siblings, Dorothy Walker Rutland, John Sidney, Jr. and David Taylor Walker.
He is survived by: his daughter Sarah Walker Savage; his son-in-law Jeffery Scott Savage; his grandchildren, Jacob Walker, Samuel Wilson and Anna Grace Savage; his caregiver Rachel Harden; and also Charlie.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. James Catholic Church (622 Chestnut St, Gadsden, AL 35901). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St James Catholic Church (622 Chestnut St, Gadsden, AL 35901).
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic School.
