She was predeceased by: her husband George Billy Connell; her parents, Amos Tumlin and Dorothy Mae Fleming Tumlin; and her siblings, Donald Tumlin, Dorothy Sue Tumlin Rich and Melody Ann Tumlin Pruitt.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Holcomb (Mike), Billy Connell (Rosemary) and Charlotte DeForest (Junior); her adoptive children, Steven Connell (Maddie), Logan Connell (Melanie) and Stephanie King (Jake); her granddaughters, Melanie Holland-Stringer (Richard), Christy Brooke Connell and Caitlin Clayson (Robbie); her great grandchildren, Phoenix Connell, Sarah Connell, Jonathan Connell, Arianna Connell, Hazel Connell, Titus Connell, Slade King, Ellie Kate Connell, Lacey Stringer and Holly Charlotte Stringer; her siblings, Buddy Tumlin and Tammy Smith (Harold); and her brother-in-law Jerry Rich (Harold Smith). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hokes Bluff Funeral Home (1901 Piedmont Cutoff, Gadsden, AL 35905). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
