He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his daughter Angela Steepleton; and his grandson John Smith Jr.. He is survived by: his girlfriend Brenda Barns; his children, Pam Smith, Gina (Ed Brown) and Billy Riddlespur (Nena); his grandchildren, Jay, Lea, Chrystal, Weslee and Jessica; his great grandchildren, Brantley, Alaina, Riley and Madison; and his siblings, Martha (Gary), Barbara (Charley), Tammy (Brian), Theresa, Julius, Danny, Robin and Joey. He is also survived by animals, particularly his dogs.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Crestwood Chapel (2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
