With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Benilda Fernandez Kelley (Gadsden, Alabama), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 8, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Benilda Fernandez leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her husband Marvin Henry Kelley; her parents, Angela Fernandez and Fernando Fernandez; and her sister Ninfa Fernandez Umadhay. She is survived by: her daughter Nola Jane Kelley; and her close friends, Celinia Sturm, Agnes Bentley, Alice Mercado, Froilina Estrada, Maloy Helms, Fay Johnson and Susan Wilkes. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
