He is survived by: his children, Leonard Dale Joseph (Marcella) of Fyffe, James Scott Barnett and Laura Meade (Christopher) of Centre; his sister Shirley McMurtry (Tommy) of Calvert City; his grandchildren, Sarah Joseph McCue, Shawney Meade, Christy Meade Chesnut, Beth Meade and Brittany Agan; and his great grandchildren, Connor McCue and Christopher McCue. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
