He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Ann Wilks; his daughter Misty Nichole Wilks; his siblings, Kay Brown, Bobby Jack Wilks, Tony Wilks and Ricky Wilks; and his parents, James R. Wilks and Maebelle Wilks.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Kylie Fay and Kendra Fay; his stepchildren, Lynn Kerby (Marty), Kellie Haynes (David), Gloria Cowart and Ervin Cowart; and his siblings, Bud Wilks (Diana), Judy Spurgeon (Scott), Billy Wilks (Darlene), Roy Wilks (Tracy), Terry Wilks, George Wilks (Kathy), Rusty Wilks (Kathy) and Roger Wilks. He is also survived by several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
