He was predeceased by: his wife Faye Watkins; his parents, H. C. Watkins and Bessie Watkins; and his siblings, Glendora Frazer, Ardell Rowell, Lillie Mae Smith, Chalmer Watkins, Calvin Watkins, Henry Watkins and Haskell Watkins.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Mayes (Rex), Cindy Bryan (Jason) and Greg Leonard; his sister Othell Bailey; and his grandchildren, Joseph Mayes, Daniel Mayes (Hollie), Jenna Mayes, Ben Bryan and Brody Bryan.
