He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Cato and Roselle Cato; and his siblings, Doris Huffstutler, Geraldine Cato, Jerome Cato and June Saleeby.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Boughan Cato (Patsy); his children, Cindy Cato Persall and Jason Cato (Adrienne); his granddaughter Jamie Persall; and his siblings, Norma Hopper, Jackie Cato and Clifford Cato. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
The family would like to ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.
