He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Hamilton Platt and Maud Brock Platt; his grandson Charles "Chas" Simon; and his siblings, Grace Platt, Ormand Platt (Florence), Inez Davidson (Woodroe), Monroe Platt (Lou), Hampie Platt, Noland Platt (Elizabeth) and Nelson Platt (Doris).
He is survived by: his wife Sophie Hentschel Platt; his children, Greg Platt (Marquetta) and Mona Simon (Chuck); his grandchildren, Amy Strehle, Brian Platt (Sarah), Rachael Simon and Rebecca Simon; his great grandchild Isaiah Strehle; and his sister Esther Moss (W. C.). He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
