She was predeceased by: her siblings, AJ Carpenter, Velma Thornton, Alberta Garland and Beatrice Thompson; and her former husband Charlie Garland.
She is survived by: her children, Joan Deese (George), Benjie Garland (Sally), Nina Brown (Kevin) and Mark Garland (Kelly); and her brother Russel Carpenter. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Yellow Pine Baptist Church. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Yellow Pine Community Cemetery.
