He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Gibson; his parents, Walter Gibson, Sr. and Lula Powell; his stepfather Tyson Powell; his siblings, Ellen Lucille Burnett, Gloria Jean Leonard and Roy Lee Gibson; and his grandsons, Jeremy Overstreet and Alan Overstreet.
He is survived by: his son Jessie Walter Gibson (Robin) of Butler, AL; his stepson Dana L. Bailey of Frisco City, AL; his daughters, Theresa L. Lowrey Wiggins (Terry) of Monroeville, AL, Paula Ann Lindsey (Bryan) of Coy, AL, Debora Franco of Excel, AL and Samantha Faye Gibson Wiggins (Mark) of Monroeville, AL; and his siblings, Elvis Gibson (Tammy) of Ward, AL, Dorothy McCants (Shorty) of Chatom, AL, Peggy Boykin (Billy) of Yantley, AL and Judy Harper of Meridian, MS. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
