With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy Kate Saffels of Fort Payne, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 4, 2025 at the age of 87. For Nancy Kate is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Joe Saffels; her parents, Wallace Gravitt and Ada Gravitt; and her siblings, Morrell Gravitt (Dot Gravitt) and Davie Sue Abernathy (S. D. Abernathy).
She is survived by: her children, Joel A. Saffels (Sheila) and Kayla Turner (Barry); and her grandson Jody Saffels.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rainsville Funeral Home (498 McCurdy Ave N, Rainsville, AL 35986). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
