With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joel B. Burt (Fort Payne, Alabama), who passed away on March 23, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Pat Burt and Jeanette Burt. He is survived by: his wife Angela; his daughters, Staci Mackey (Greg) of Cedar Bluff, AL and Dee Dee Martz (Reed) of Lookout Mountain, TN; his grandchildren, Gabriel Martz, Margaret Martz, Jonathan Martz, Anna Martz and Claire Martz; his sister Kandi Burt; and his pets, Peppy and Sassy Mae.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (3801 Gault Ave N, Fort Payne, AL 35967).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Full Gospel Church, c/o Rev. James Wells, 16070 US Hwy 411 North, Centre, AL 35960.

“Fred and I was so sorry to hear about our neighbor of 8 years, Mr Joel. He was a very good neighbor to us. Our last memory of him is coming home from a very enjoyable birthday dinner. Unfortunately after this he fell ill and we never saw him again. We will always have fond memories of him. Angela, you are in our prayers and Fred and I are here for you. Fred and Jan Sawyer”
