With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Wesley Gilliam of Fort Payne, Alabama, born in Annapolis, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2024 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Benjamin Gilliam and Eva Brewer Gilliam; and his wife Diana Rae Gilliam. He is survived by: his sons, Daniel J. Gilliam (Sherri Petty) and Michael E. W. Gilliam (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Daniel Jay Gilliam Jr. (Ashley), Taylor Akins (Dalton) and Logan Smith; his great grandchildren, Makenlee, Olivia, Sophia and Ruby; and his daughter Vicki Dickinson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Burt Chapel-Fort Payne (2100 Gault Ave N, Fort Payne, AL 35967). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery. A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the same location.
